This is because the charging point not only meets the needs of guests with electric vehicles, but also offers a unique opportunity to generate additional revenue through the sale of services already inside the establishment during the car charging break.

Sustainability and environmental concern: who really cares? The data provide a range of consumer segments that are sensitive to sustainability in Italy.

Among the subdivisions, the highest percentage of the population is covered by ‘Enthusiastic Supporters‘ and ‘Pragmatic Supporters’, the medium-high spenders pro-actively seeking sustainable solutions that can easily fit into their daily routine. This group accounts for 46% of the Italian population (almost 1 in 2 people) and is sensitive to environmental issues, thus inclined to choose an accommodation facility that offers a charging station regardless of the guest’s car.

Demonstrating a concrete commitment to the environment and offering a sustainable service such as an electric vehicle charging point, is now also a differentiating factor for investment in travel, in a world where people do a lot of research before buying a service and choosing where to spend their time.
