Rates and payment methods

Use your card to charge

To start a charging session, you need to add a payment method:

  • Credit card
  • Debit card
  • PayPal

Your data stays secure: evway does not directly handle card information.

Charging cannot be started (even at free stations) if your account balance is negative.

Pay-as-you-go Rates

With evway, you have access to over 950,000 interoperable charging stations across Italy and Europe. Rates may vary depending on the operator, so we always recommend checking the costs on the App before starting a charging session.

evway applies the same conditions received from its roaming partners, ensuring full transparency toward its customers. At the start of a charging session, a pre-authorization is made on your payment method: this is a temporary hold that will be automatically released at the end of the session.

The refund time may vary depending on your bank or payment network.

Each charging session includes:

  • Starting Fee: a fixed initial cost, the only contribution for the evway service
  • Energy Component: calculated based on actual consumption (kWh)
  • Time Component: based on the duration of the session

Everything is always visible and under control within the App..

Difference Between AC and DC Time-Based Rates

AC
  • After the first 3 consecutive hours, a time-based fee calculated by the minute is added to the energy rate.
  • From 00:00 to 8:00, the time-based fee is not applied.
DC
  • After the first hour, a time-based fee calculated by the minute is added to the energy rate.
  • The time-based fee for DC applies also during nighttime hours.

Where can I see the rates for each charging station?

  • Open the evway App
  • Select the charging point
  • View the rates per kWh and time, along with the applicable conditions

  • From 8:01 AM onward, the time-based fee is added to the energy rate.
Example 2 — Charging session starts at 6:00 AM
  • Starting the session at 6:00 AM, the first 3 hours expire at 9:00 AM.
